Progress Report Flood '08 +4 days

OK, we're out of the 'throw out your entire life and watch it become a pile of shit' phase and into the 'dry out your house and get ready to rebuild' phase. We got SO much done Monday and Tuesday and it was all the work of our friends and family. We are the luckiest people on the face of the earth, and I can say that even in the face of complete destruction of our home and belongings. Our families have put a roof over our heads, loaned us cars to get to work, helped out with demo of the destroyed parts of our home and the drying out and salvaging of what's left, fed us, supported us...there aren't any words. Hell, I'm choking up as I type this. We're going to be OK, and I will never be able to properly thank everyone that's helping us get there. If it was just Rita and I, I don't think we'd make it.

One of these days I'm going to get some pictures up, but I don't know if I want to put up the demo pictures. I don't even like thinking about it, let alone seeing the visual evidence. I think I'm going to start with the drying out and rebuilding. That'll be nicer for everyone.
